Hygiene Kits for the Homeless

Our department, UCSF Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is having a fall retreat on Nov 19th. This year, we all agreed that we'd like to do something a little different from the typical team-building mold.
In San Francisco, there's approximately 6,686 people without a place to live. Though this figure has been pretty stable the past two years, this population is getting sicker, older, and more readily displaced from their neighborhoods by gentrification and changing demographics. Personal hygiene is vital to health and dignity, but for those living on the streets--this basic need is a huge challenge.
For our retreat, we're partnering with Project Homeless Connect (PHC) to build 144 hygiene kits for folks in need. We are asking for $600, which equates to around $4 per kit. Any extra funds or supplies will also be donated to PHC.
Stored in a quart-sized ziploc bag, these kits will include the following items:
· (1) Pair of socks
· Toothbrush
· 1.5 oz. Toothpaste
· Shampoo/Conditioner
· Two bars of soap
· 1.5 oz. Roll on Deodorant
· 1 oz. Sunscreen
CPI is a small, 7-person UCSF department so we'd be incredibly thankful for ANY donation you can make by Nov 15th!
