If I can help anyone in any way through my voice then I will. I'm not sure what all you want to know. We found Winston July 31, 2014, wandering around our apartment complex at 3 am during a storm. I brought him inside have him a bath and made him a little bed next to me in the bottom drawer of my nightstand (it was rather large lol) he wouldn't stop staring at me and wouldn't lay down so I picked him up and put him in bed with me. I should mention he had a terrible haircut, only weighed 4 lbs and had a huge sore on the side of his head. The next day we took him to the shelter, no microchip, no reports of a missing dog. So we decided to take him home and keep him until the owners were found. Obviously, we never found them. Took him to the vet and he became ours. A year later my we fell into some hard times and had to move in with my mom and her now ex-husband. After about a month her ex-husband kicked me and my fiance out and we were living in a storage unit for a few days. We didn't have a car, no place to go, except to the extra room our second storage unit gave us. Luckily it had a couch! The cops convinced my mom to let me borrow my sister's car just to get to work (she lived about 15 miles away from where I needed to be.) I got to work and nowhere to go afterward. We didn't think the bus didn't run that late and it didn't matter because Tim had Winston waiting for me to get off work to walk with me because it was midnight and couldn't leave Winston alone in the storage unit. We walked 4 miles to our storage unit. We got there it was 46° and didn't have a blanket. We couldn't lock the storage unit and had to be really quiet because they did patrol. I tucked Winston inside my shirt and jacket to keep him warm. (I can't stand to see him shiver) and Tim laid next to me with his jacket covering all 3 of us. I got paid a few days later and was able to afford. Hotel to clean ourselves up (because I worked at a hospital as a clerk). It was actually kind of difficult to find one that was dog-friendly! Gave Win a bath and relaxed. We actually had it much better than most homeless because I had a job. We stayed at the hotel for a few days and Tims mother (lives in Glasgow ky) called and paid for a different cheap motel to keep us warm. It was 36° at this point. We stayed there for a few days and thank god it was closer to my work. I didn't have to walk as far to get to the bus! Lol a few days after that the apartment We had put a deposit on almost 3 weeks prior was finally ready. Thank God. We called a taxi to take us back to our storage unit to grab a few items then to Wal-Mart to get soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. We got to our apartment, it wasn't quite where she wanted it to be before we moved in but I didn't care. We slept on the floor for a few nights until we could get enough money to move our furniture. But it was warm and we had little food from a dear friend of mine at work. And a shower. You would not believe how amazing a shower is after being in a situation like that. Anyway, we stayed there for a few months, I got a car and we moved on. With car payment and rent we lost that apartment a few months later and we stayed with on of Tims friends. That time was so much easier than the first. His apartment didn't allow dogs so we could only Walk Winston early morning and late at night at the park next to us. We have him a puppy pad and he was an amazing little thing. Never complained never gave you sad eyes. He was exhausted like we were and you could see that in his eyes but no one ever talked about it. We got a new apartment that following February (2016) and have been here ever since. Once again as the universe would have it we are falling on hard times again. I have started school and got through my first semester and 12/5/16 I totaled the car that I have been making payments on and on 12/21/16 I was let go from my job. Before this, my psychiatrist upped my antidepressant meds. I do have depression. And I have made it this far and I don't intend to give up yet. Although I have tried and Winston has helped me through every step. He was more company than anyone can imagine. Even as I right this Winston is sitting right by my side. He would follow me to the end of the earth. I feel like he is our soul child. Like some people believe in soul mates. I know that Winston was sent to me by God or whatever higher power people believe in. Winston has saved me from myself on many occasions and I will forever owe that to this little furbaby. I don't know what I will do without Winston by my side.
