Hiya! My name is Will! My foster mom Ellie calls me Prince William, and she’s sure treating me like royalty! I was brought into Yolo County Animal Shelter on Wednesday, May 2nd and my mom immediately brought me to the UC Davis emergency room because I was having some trouble breathing. I was covered in fleas, I had tapeworms and am still very underweight! I got a bath and my mom flea combed for hours, and I’ve been warm and fed ever since. Apparently I have something silly called a ventricular septal defect, which means that my heart doesn’t pump blood correctly. I’m on some medications for that. I also have an esophageal defect that makes it hard for me to get food down into my tummy. My doctors believe that a CT angiogram and a surgical procedure could correct my esophageal issues so that I can eat and grow to be a big boy! Although I have a serious heart condition, I could live a happy life for quite some time! My mom is dedicated to making sure that all options are pursued in order for me to survive.
