On behalf of our Katie Wilson...
Katie was diagnosed with stage 3B ovarian cancer this past March. She immediately underwent an extensive surgery to remove the tumors on her ovaries and spots on her liver. Her treatment will continue over the next 6-8 months with weekly chemotherapy in hopes to keep the cancer from spreading and encourage those cells to leave her body forever.
We all know Katie is a fighter... some might refer to her as stubborn. The "c" word doesn't stand a chance in the next 8 months. Unfortunately what Katie is not good at is fighting the treatment bills. You might be asking yourself, how can I aide Katie in her battle against the "c" word? I'm so glad you asked!! Besides your words of encouragement, visits, homecooked meals, calls and facetimes, moral support and general positivity, we would like your help in easing the pain of medical bills and future needs as she begins her chemo journey. Any and all donations will help.
For those of you who don't know us, we are Nicole and Bobby Malone and Adam and Beth Hargove... long time friends of the Wilson and current/past co-workers. Bob and I live in Austin and The Hargroves reside in Fort Worth for the time being... someday we will get them here. In setting up the gofundme for Katie our goal was to help ease the stress of financial instablility during this trying time. All funds raised for Katie will go toward her medical bills, supplies needed for chemo, the trial she is a part of through her doctors office and supplemental income. Katie spent over a week in the hospital after a major surgery and will have chemo once a week for the next 6-8 months. Being a public school teacher, once you are out of days they begin to deduct from your paycheck so the funds will also go toward supplementing the loss of income when she is unable to work. All funds will be pulled by Katie, we are just helping to set up the account and send out words of encouragement!
