Willie's Perineal Hernia Repair

$2,936 of $2,500 goal

Raised by 39 people in 17 months
Willie developed a small lump on his back end about a month ago.  I took him to the veteranarian & he was diagnosed with a Perineal Hernia.  Since then the lump went from a golfball size to a baseball sized lump.  His appetite has dropped 75%, and he spends 10 mins 4, or 5, times a day trying to defecate.  If it is too difficult for him I have to push his intestinal matter back in as he defecates.  The problem is exasterbating fairly rapidly, and must be surgically repaired asap, and unfortuately it is fairly expensive procedure. Due to my current financial position, I simply do not have the means to have this procedure done.  He is my absolute best friend on the planet and because of this I've resorted to starting this Fundraiser and would beg for help to save my buddy from an accerated condition or other health issues that can spawn from his condition.  Thank you for any help you can provide, I promise to pay-it-forward when my financial situation improves.

Willie is acting 100% normal (i.e. Entitled, spoiled, doesn't listen, and acts as if my cooking his homemade diet, brushing his teeth, cleaning his ears, picking him up to get on whatever he wants to) . lol.

He is getting annoyed that I don't let him jump up on furniture on his own and makes a small protesting grunt every time I pick him up.

Still has the cone, which he just LOVES...lol...NOT!

I sent the Surgeon updated pics taken today... I'm hoping the lump is normal. The swelling seems to of all diminished, but admittedly, I'm a little concerned about the lump--but it could very well be the muscle that was used to cover the muscle split--I'll let you folks know once I hear back.

Still on all his meds, though he's almost out of Tramadol (pain meds), which means he'll be harder to keep from running and jumping....arghh!!

Thanks 2 EVERYONE!!
I'm hoping this lump is 'normal'

Willie is seemingly at 100%, he wants to jump and run, which is stressing me out to no end. Stress on the internal sutures could be devastating at this point. I've continued him on his Tramadol (pain meds) solely to calm down his activity.. hate doing it, but the lesser of the two evils I suppose.

His follow up examination is 7/27, but I wish it were sooner so I'd know when he was safe, recovery-wise.

He's growing less and less patient with having to go out to go potty on leash, and now flat out refuses to Come when I call him--Seriously, he thinks his attitude is punishing me lol....

Still wearing the Cone, which only adds to the attitude, and the forced Meds don't help either...

All in all, Willie's doing well... It's me that you guys should be concerned about now, LOL...J/K...

Thanks for reading....and thanks for everything!!

Well, Willie has swelling in the repaired area, but it may be normal & expected... But more likely it is me over worrying. I'm going to sent the surgeon another pic on Thursday if I don't see it reduce. His Post-Op Follow-up appt is not until 7/27, and I'd be a nervous wreck by then if I didn't send the surgeon pics (for Willie's health & my state of mind, lol).

He's still on Rimadyl, Ciprofloxacin, and Tramadol. He's down to 5 Tramadol (for pain), but he's not showing much discomfort--in fact, my biggest issue is keeping him from trying to jump (on furniture/bed), or running (I take him potty on leash to control that. He seems like he wants to play and get excited (which stresses me out to the Nth degree, lol.

His appetite is about 150% of norm, and water consumption is up about 250%.

All in all... No signs of infection or burst internal stitches (unless the swelling isn't my imagination).. outer stitches show no signs of infection.

Looking good peeps...Thanks for reading and your concern.
