Support William Pauley's Healing

Donation protected
On New Year's Eve, William was leaving work at Confluence Kombucha in The Grove when his car was t-boned. The driver of the other vehicle was being pursued by police in a high-speed chase, which ended with the collision into the driver's side of William's car. It took 45 minutes to free William from his mangled Subaru. He was taken to Barnes-Jewish with life-threatening injuries, where he immediately went into surgery to repair his ruptured diaphragm. William remained in ICU for the next four days, and then had a second surgery to repair several broken ribs with titanium plating. After a total of eleven days in the hospital, William is home and recovering.

William has been brewing kombucha since 2009, and he has spent the last several years working toward opening his own kombucha brewery. On September 21, 2016, William opened Confluence Kombucha in the Grove, along with his business partner Julienne Villarini. The process was long - ten months of pursuing permits from both the state and federal level - but William's dream of opening his own space is all he has been working for.

Confluence Kombucha now has almost everything in place; permits, staff, a full array of kombucha on tap, and featuring an innovative menu of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly dishes that are fermented, cultured, and pickled. As William heals from his incredible injuries, he will be the only thing missing, unable to return fully to his role of brewer and business owner for an unknown length of time.

Many members of the community have reached out, asking how they can show their love and support in this time of healing. Making a contribution on this campaign is one way - for people local to St. Louis, you can also show your love and support by visiting Confluence Kombucha at 4507 Manchester Ave in The Grove.
