Stand with the Lakota youth!


Native American Advocacy Program’s refuge for our Lakota youth is in immediate risk, we need your help now to save our bunkhouse and safe-haven for the youth of the Rosebud Reservation and surrounding communities. 

Recently NAAP lost one of our significant funding sources and we are up against some tough choices to cover operating expenses and keep our youth bunkhouse going through the winter months.

Currently we cannot afford for our youth come stay at our safe-house with the recent loss of funding – we are unable to cover essential expenses, property payments, food and extra heating costs for the bunk rooms.

The holiday season and long winter months are some of the most stressful months for our youth – it’s when they need NAAP’s services and shelter the most.

Hard truths of what youth on the Rosebud Reservation face:

•  58% of youth under 18 live below the poverty level.

•  The Rosebud Sioux Reservation is in 2nd poorest county of the US.

•  Our community has 80% unemployment due to lack of opportunity.

•  29% of our population is homeless.

•  Our youth have a suicide rate 5x higher than other American teens.

•  Only 1/3 of reservation students have a high school diploma.

Please help us reach our goal to keep the lights on and continue to welcome our youth with open arms. We have the caring hearts and the committed staff and volunteers. We just need your donation to make it through this winter, while we weather this funding transition.

Help the lessons from Standing Rock resonate throughout Indian country and beyond… Together we can DO anything!! Together we can succeed!! Please help us get through this rough time so that our youth can have their safe place to recharge, decompress and ground themselves in their culture and ceremonies with the help and guidance of their Lakota elders. Let them know that that what is happening in Standing Rock is not just an isolated incident but a true movement of caring for each other and standing together.

When one struggles, we all struggle.  Send our Lakota youth the message that when we connect, we succeed!!!
