The Virginia Men’s Lacrosse Team is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 10th annual Will Barrow Memorial Flag Football Tournament this fall. Originally created in 2009 by Max Pomper, a former teammate of Will’s, this fundraiser allows our program to honor Will’s life and celebrate his memory. This annual tournament brings in hundreds of college lacrosse players from all across the country to honor former UVA lacrosse player Will Barrow and raise awareness regarding suicide prevention.
Proceeds from the event will go the UVA Help Line, (434)-295-TALK, which is an anonymous, confidential telephone service serving the residents of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia. Volunteers provide callers with a nonjudgmental, empathetic ear for any issue that the caller wishes to discuss. Upon a successful campaign last year, we have decided to expand the breadth of our donations and thus, on top of what we give to the UVA Help Line, we have also set up a college scholarship for one or more members of the Harlem Lacrosse program in NYC.
Will Barrow will forever leave his mark on the UVA program, which goes far beyond his excellence on the lacrosse field. Please help us make this year’s tournament the biggest year yet! Every dollar counts.

Finally, Griffin Spolansky and Cory Harris, two members of the Virginia Men's Lacrosse team, will be withdrawing the funds and donating them to their respective charities: The Harlem Lacrosse Scholarship and The Suicide Prevention Hotline. 70% of the funds raised will be going towards the scholarship and 30% will be going towards the suicide prevention hotline. We will be delivering the funds via a check from a personal account.
