31095468_1530832417223696_r.jpegThe Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant in Walnut Grove could be called the Big Flood on the Prairie. With over nine inches of rain in a very short time, several Southwest Minnesota communities lost power, saw roads washed out with many flood and no travel warnings.
Heavy rain, flooding, storm damage, and cleanup have pushed back the opening of the Wilder Pageant Production.
Plum Creek took a lead roll and covered the pageant site in three to eight feet of water. There was damage to sets, costumes, sound and light equipment as well as access roads at the Wilder Pageant site. The extent of the repairs will be fully determined when the water recedes. Cast, crew and community are pitching in to clean, rebuild, and repair the site so that the 41st production will be a success.
We hope you will consider our go fund me.Your donations will be used to perform much needed maintenance to our aging and flood damaged facilities.

Wilder Pageant Flood Relief Donations Over $15,000!

FAN-tastic! Response has been excellent as the Wilder Pageant Committee works on its goal of raising $30,000 to help with repairs and lost revenue from the Big Flood on the Prairie of July 3rd, 2018. A special thank you goes out to The Kohn Family Theater and Arts Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Opening the letter and staring at the check for $8000 was jaw dropping! Other donations in honor of birthdays, in memory of loved ones and from present and former pageant members as well as community businesses have been heart warming. We will use your donations wisely to restock costumes, replace tools, speakers and repair roads, buildings and sets to be ready for opening night on July 5th in 2019.

Contributions are still being accepted through the GoFundMe site as well as cash and checks. We recognize these good folks not just for the dollars but also for the thoughtfulness of their gifts.
