Wild Again Rescue
doing amazing things for animals and people!
The mission of Wild Again is to provide a safe environment for the humane care & treatment of injured, sick or orphaned wildlife so they can be released back into their natural habitat. This is accomplished by a dedicated trained team of volunteers to help care for the animals under the supervision of Wild Again's directors & Ohio Wildlife laws & regulations.
Our plans for a wildlife neonate structure will change the lives of many people and wildlife babies who couldn’t make it without us. Click here for more info and ways you can help: http://www.wildagainrescue.org/heal...
We also provide long term care for other animals such as: horses, goats, pigs, geese, parrots, cats & dogs that have come to the rescue in need of a better life.
We do not get outside funding other than our supporters who share our passion. We are asking for funds for the wildlife structure which will allow us to expand our rescue efforts, community outreach & educational services allowing us to save more animal lives while enriching the lives of more people. We’re always looking for committed volunteers that share our passion and want to give back . Various positions available: http://www.wildagainrescue.org/volu...
"For as long as I can remember, my Mom & Dad never turned their back on anyone (person or animal) who needed help getting back on their feet. They've never asked for any compensation and have always been of the belief that if you do good things, good things will come your way.
They have saved thousands of animals and changed the lives of countless children. Because they are licensed wildlife rehabilitators many people think that they are compensated for their supplies and hours or hard work, but that's not the case at all." Trevor Gay, son
She was not spayed (as the previous owners had claimed). Her initial and routine veterinary costs after admission to Wild Again included a one time spay, yearly vaccinations & bi-monthly tusk & hoof trims.
We needed to create an enclosure that she could not escape from (she's been watching way too much David Copperfield) . This area also needed shelter from the sun & rain and very importantly needs a varying source of enrichment to prevent boredom. In the picture below you can see a white pvc pipe we attached to the supports of the sun shelter. We drilled holes in the pipe and mounted it so it can spin. Priscilla's pig pelleted food in placed inside the tube and she quickly learned to spin the tube to release her food! Pigs are very smart!!
The new pen included split rail fence lined with strong wire "hog panels" and heavy duty latched gate. With the help of volunteers, we do all the construction at the rescue ourselves to save money but we still have to purchase the materials .
Importantly, Priscilla loves her new place and all the volunteers who play and give her belly rubs! It makes our hearts sing to see her so happy but the thousands of dollars in costs thus far has left a big hole in Wild Again's bank account. We hope you'll donate so we can continue to provide quality care to Priscilla and her friends at Wild Again.
Calls and messages are pouring in. So happy to report that so far we've been VERY successful reuniting many orphans with their mothers. While that is ALWAYS the goal it's not always a fairy tale ending. This little guy was not reclaimed by his mom but is thriving and doing great at Wild Again. We celebrated his eyes opening yesterday!
