Wig Donation for Medical Patients
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Devon Carrow, and I am the founder of “The Love Spreader,” a platform that aims to spread positivity, encourage self-esteem and raise awareness for image-related bullying. Six years ago, when I was sixteen, I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, an auto-immune hair loss disease. I suffered with anxiety and depression as result of losing all of my hair, and started The Love Spreader in hopes that I could prevent others from feeling the same pain I went through. I am fortunate to have connected with thousands of people around the Globe, many of whom suffer with Alopecia.
Alopecia can be a very expensive disease to treat. Wigs, cortisone injections, vitamins, topical ointments, etc. can cost thousands of dollars a year, and I want to help take some of the burden off of newly diagnosed hair-loss patients. My goal is to be able to raise $5,000 so that 25 lucky men, women, and children can each get $200 towards the purchase of a wig of their choice, or to help with medical expenses. I am not limiting this to those with Alopecia, it is open for anyone who lost their hair as a result of a medical condition (i.e. chemotherapy, thyroid disease, scalp infections, etc.). I plan on dropping off the checks to a few hospitals in the Philadelphia-region, in addition to selecting the remaining “winners” from “The Love Spreader” following.
This absolutely means the world to me, and any donation, like, comment, and re-post makes a difference in my life, and the lives of people who will be receiving the donations.
