My name is Max, I'm a student in Madison, Wisconsin, and I'm worried that my children won't have the experience I did when I grew up.  My generation is living with the fear that the planet I've grown up in will not be the same by the end of my lifetime.

Across Europe, students have been expressing the same sentiment in powerful waves of protests. Students have been going on strike to show why governments have an obligation to protect our future from this climate crisis. Now, we are bringing the 'school strike for climate', created by Greta Thunberg, to the United States and we need your support to help us spread the message. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change we have 11 years to take action on climate change across the globe or we’ll see irreversible effects of it.  This shouldn't come lightly, and we should be scared.

On March 15, students across the planet will walk out of class and strike for climate action. We're striking because those in charge have abused this beautiful planet and its resources. There is no Planet B.

To make this happen we need funds. We need funds to bus students from across the state to demand change. We also need funds to procure sound systems and promotional material. With your donations, we can accomplish this.

Your help would go towards saving this planet and our group of organizers would be extremely grateful to you for your donation. Saving this planet can't just be done by the few who take initiative, it takes every single one of us standing up, donating, striking, and demanding change to prevent our planet from undertaking irreversible effects from climate change. Decades of inaction has left us with 11 years to solve the climate crisis. If anything is to be done, it has to be done now. Please donate to help us make our voices heard. Thank you.

Hi Everyone! Thank you all for the support we've gotten so far! We're super excited for Friday and our expectation has grown from a few hundred to almost 2,000. We expect Madison area schools to almost completely clear out on the 15th and we need more funds to safely bus students from their school to the strike.

Freshman and Sophomores in High School cannot drive and buses will help ensure their safe arrival to the strike and their return to the school. Students at West, LaFollette, and more are still in need of busing and with your help we can accomplish that.

Thank you.

Hey Everyone! Thanks so much to everyone who has supported us and contributed so far. We've been working tirelessly to put on this strike for everyone of all ages and we've grown our crowd expectations to at least 1,000 (which means we need to raise lots more money to sustain that size of an event!).

The interest for this strike has grown beyond Madison and we have students and people all across the state wanting to join in. We're now searching for funds to bus those interested in areas that have felt a surge of climate activism and interest. Please share this GoFundMe campaign with your family, friends and everyone! This climate crisis is not something we can do alone. We need full scale mobilization by everyone, not just students!

Our organizers have held a press conference this Friday to announce details of the strike and our following actions. Our Speaker for the day of include Green New Deal Co-Sponsor & Representative, Mark Pocan as well as MMSD School Board Candidate Ali Muldrow. We also announced that thanks to a partnership with the Melharmony Foundation we were able to procure three buses to drive the hundreds of interested students from Milwaukee to Madison for the strike. We were also joined by Representative Chris Taylor to announce what her office has been doing to combat climate change and continues to plan to work with us to combat it in the legislature. Following our Press Conference we held a small school strike for climate in the Capitol and made our voices heard by everyone in the building.

Please consider donating to this pressing and urgent issue. We have 11 years before we see irrevocable effects, the time is now. Thank you.
