We all like to think we will care for our families when they need us as they age but we can't always do that or don't for certain reasons.
Ciaran has cared for his mum with dementia and ended up in a situation where they have been separated and lost their home.
This story saddens me as working with people with this illness is really hard and ciaran has kept his mum in the environment she remembers for her to be happy and settled even whilst living with this illness.
It's so important to try and keep dementia suffers around what and who they know as not to confuse them any further.
Ciaran at the moment is living in his car with no belongings he would accept any help offered be it clothes, food, a room for the night, fuel costs for visits but I think if we all pull together we could get him the £200 he needs to gain access to his and his mums memories and belongings and hopefully more to go him somewhere warm to stay possibly closer to his mum maybe a private rental would get them reunited.
