Why won’t Katt support his kids???

Donation protected
I am a first cousin of comedian Katt Williams, and a co-adoptive parent with him to one of the children this GoFundMe account is set up for and I am the legal guardian of another. I would be remiss not to reach out for the help that is needed. I am just stating what I know to be the facts.

During 2018 there has been another 100 city comedy tour, another TV show (ATL),  an Emmy win, and another birthday. Meanwhile, here in California were struggling.

We struggle to do many things that we should not have to struggle to do. First and foremost, we are struggling to keep the apartment. As Katt says,"You are not supposed to be at the gas station making life decisions" but often it seems like I am. We (the kids and I) do not live beyond our means, all these years I’ve managed to keep our heads just above water, but never out of debt (since I took three of the four kids into my home. They had been removed from Katt by DCFS back in December 2012).  I eventually saw online in 2013 that Katt got the kids back, but that wasn’t the truth.

After years of working full-time as a Substance Abuse Counselor/Case Manager, I got laid off in January 2018 along with about 80% of my coworkers, and even with a Masters degree it took me six months before I got a job offer. During those six months I applied for and received assistance from a local non-profit program HOPICS to try to keep the rent paid. This is the ONLY reasons we made it this far without being evicted. They could only help for so long. Even though I’m finally working full-time, I’m still behind on the essentials, and literally days away from losing it all. After receiving an Unlawful Detainer (Eviction Notice) and seeking legal help through Public Counsel, we made payment plans for the back rent for 9/26/18 (PAID) and 11/15/18 (PAID on 11/21/18 with the help of a handful of my loyal family and friends). Happy Thanksgiving, we survived the eviction! Now hopefully we will receive some help from this GoFundMe and won’t be in that situation again, there are still several bills pending that must be addressed. It is now 2019 and there has been no response to our page in several months.

It has been a very difficult decision for me to actually put this GoFundMe out. I’ve always wanted to keep the two kids I still have out of the media. I’ve tried to help the kids live as close to a normal life as possible, but at this point GoFundMe seems like the only option left. I would hope that at least Katts loyal friends and fans would pitch in to help increase financial stability for the kids.  I should have asked them for help four years ago when Malik committed suicide on Nov 23, 2014. This is the very kid that Katt told the Ritalin joke about over and over again and called his son. It still hurts me that Katt didn’t help with the services, his funeral or anything. Malik looked at Katt as his dad too. He was one of those so called “eight adopted children”. We ended up paying for it all with the generous donations of friends and family through a GoFundMe that his close friends mother started for us, and a large donation from United Friends for Children (a program he was part of) and still barely had enough.

To top it all off, Katt had to send our youngest daughter back out to me in CA this June 2018 with no warning, no planning, no health insurance, and no money. She needs serious ongoing mental health treatment, which I can not afford. That’s why she had been back in GA with Katt and Lena since Dec of 2016, after the first of her many inpatient episodes of care here with UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. I couldn’t afford to keep her safe, but Katt and Lena could.

She was hospitalized the moment she arrived back in CA. It's been eight months now, inpatient followed by residential treatment, followed by additional inpatient stays. She has experienced lots of ups and downs and is currently experiencing a little stability.

I am asking whoever took the time to read this to, please donate to help support Katt’s two minor kids.  Anyone who wants to help, please donate or share the link, and offer them some financial stability. Some of the very “8 adopted kids“, who were the subject of so many interviews and articles over the years.

If you'd like to pay the landlord directly please let me know, as this is most important task at the moment, followed by continued fundraising for superior mental health treatment versus what she’s receiving now with her state Medi-Cal and assistance from DCFS with her residential placement. In addition, assistance for college for our high school senior, who will be graduating and is determined to attend college. He recently asked me if he has a college fund, he does not. None of them do.

Self sufficiency hadn’t been much of a problem in all these years. It shouldn’t be one now, unfortunately life happens. I am asking for help but it seems like we continue to be invisible as the spotlight continues to shine on their father. He’s gotten a new role from ABC, however we continue to struggle.

With all sincerity,

A family member who’s kept everything under wraps way too long.
