Wholeness for Heather

$3,830 of $6,500 goal

Heather has breast cancer.
Typing that makes my heart ache.

She is scheduled for surgery in a couple short weeks on February 28  with ten to twelve weeks of recovery to follow.
Fortunately, the cancer was caught early and Heather is expected to be
cancer free after surgery.

Her husband, John, has been unable to work due to a back injury, leaving Heather as the sole income earner.

I love that we get to come along side Heather, John and their five beautiful kids in this immensely difficult season.
Here is how we can help:

**Easing the financial burden of the weeks without pay.
**Providing nutritious, easy to prepare meals for the family while John juggles the household and makes sure Heather is cared for.
**Being an emotional support by saying we are here and we care.
**Declaring the hand of God to be evident throughout the whole surgery and recovery.
**Praying comfort for the kids.

To honor the privacy of the Forsman family please do not share this campaign. If you have any encouragement please message Heather privately.

We all care deeply for Heather and her family and want to know how they are doing. Please come back to this campaign for regular updates.

Thank you,
Jennifer Thompson

First off, a huge thank you to each of you for your generosity. Your dollars, prayers and the ways you have shown care is astounding!

There is some good news and some bad news.

Good news first:
Heather went home Saturday to continue recovery. Aside from the expected discomfort from the surgeries she is doing really well.
John is taking on the care of Heather, the kids and the home like a pro.

The bad news:
Monday, March 5th the oncologist called. Three of the four lymph nodes that were taken are showing cancer.

This wasn't supposed to happen. The expectation was that the surgeries would remove all the cancer. Obviously, Heather and John are reeling from disappointment.

On Wednesday, March 7th, Heather will go back into surgery to have lymph nodes taken from tiers 2 and 3 to be tested. She will also be scheduled for a bone scan.
The likelihood of chemotherapy has dramatically increased.

This feels scary and sad and incredibly unfair.

As my heart aches for my dear friend, I find hope and comfort in a Good Father who sees, who knows and who is for Heather.

Please agree with me in prayer that there will not be any more cancer to be found in her body. Please pray for supernatural comfort and peace for Heather, John and the kids. Please pray for continued recovery from the previous surgeries and quick recovery from the upcoming surgery.

Thank you.

Heather was finished with the double mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries around six last night. She went in for a second surgery soon after to remove two blood clots. She came out of that a little after midnight. At least 12 hours in surgery! A long day.

She is doing really well this morning.

Thank you all for your prayers!!!! They have meant so much to the family.

Because of you, we raised almost $1200 for them in one day! Thank you.

The care and support you have poured out is so beautiful!
