Hope Needs Your Help

Hope is a baby Macaw that was attacked by a dog. She has a full break in her back, along with a break in her upper leg.  All this from a boston terrier.  Her mom has signed her over to the rescue to see if we can help her.  She is very upset about all of this...so please...no slamming her.  Hope's break in her back is complete...although the spinal cord may have suffered some damage, it is exposed...meaning there's very little protection for it.  She still needs hospitalization as she's still anemic.  We are going to do everything we can for Hope.

Hope's mom has allowed us to share her story because she would like to spread the word in order to possibly save a life or prevent an injury like hopes.

We need your help for Hope's medical bills and after care.  She will need special padding, perches, toys, etc. and she's currently being hand fed because she's not eating enough on her own.

Golden Cockatoo donated her special condo...it's (large) small animal display case which will allow her room to move around without climbing.  Due to the break in her back...if Hope falls she could do far more damage to it because her spinal cord is exposed and the broken ends could possible sever it in a fall.

So, please give...please share...help Hope's mom and the rescue spread this around so more people are aware of the dangers when it comes to dogs/cats and birds.  There are far too many pictures on facebook showing dogs and birds in the same picture.  While they may get along for a time...it only takes a second for the dogs hunting instincts to come to the surface.

So, please please stop allowing your dogs or cats near your birds.
