WHEELS FOR MATTHEW!
Matthew was born with Cerebral Palsy, he has global developmental delays and is wheel chair bound. Although Matthew can't walk and is non-verbal, he is the light of his family. He brings joy and hope to everyone who knows him and his smile is contagious!
As Matthew continues to grow, it is becoming increasingly harder to lift and transfer him safely from his wheeelchair to a car. It requires a great deal of physical strength to transport him and his chair. Not only is this hard on his caregiver's, but maneuvering Matthew in and out of their vehicle can put Matthew at risk.
Because of his condition, riding in a regular vehicle seat is not ideal, leaving him unsupported, unsafe and uncomfortable. He desperately needs a wheelchair accessible van BUT converted vans can cost twice as much as a typical van, which is out of reach for Matthew's single mom, who stays home to care for Matthew.
Matthew is an active guy and has many weekly outings such as Miracle League Baseball, therapy appointments, community involvment, and more . We don't want transportation to stop him from being involved. Will you partner with us to help keep on the move?
It is with great joy that we invite you to take part in "Wheels for Matthew" a fundraiser to provide for Matthew's WHEELCHAIR VAN! Together, I believe we can make this dream a reality. LET'S DO THIS!
