I have Lost 500 Pounds and I Need Your Help!
Hello there! If you are reading this, THANK YOU! Here is my story. I started out life as a very obese child; I weighed 230 lbs at the age of 10 and my weight continued to increase. Through life many people including family and peers humiliated me due to my weight. I compensated and wanted to become a lobbyist to end this obesity epidemic and help not only educate to prevent but to instill confidence in each and every person.
I am 29 years old and the business development manager of a medical company, I have recently started an amazing program to help special needs and complex medically needs children in Tennessee. I used to weigh 750 pounds if not more and yes 750! I had RnY gastric bypass in 2009 and worked my butt off to lose 500 pounds. I have helped so many people in their struggle but my struggle continues.

After two years I have almost 75 or 80 pounds of excess skin around my belly, legs, arms and pretty much all over. It isn't just cosmetic though. I can't find shirts or pants that fit and working in a professional job I can't find a shirt to tuck in. My belly hangs down well below my waist and my legs are awful. I have constant sores and tumors and deal with other personal medical problems from all this excess skin.
I had insurance and they said once I was stable enough to have the skin removal that I would be approved so I got stable, lost the weight and kept my body healthy. THEN.... I find out that my insurance stated that since I had "no chronic or immediate medical needs" that they were no longer going to cover me. That means that not only was the skin surgery that was going to possibly make my life an actual life was denied but everything else was taken as well from physical therapy and monthly medications such as vitamins.
The money I am asking help for is to cover the cost of the surgery. I have asked several hospitals and surgeons and everyone of them have given me false hope and false information about helping me so I have to be the one to get the help to save my life. I need the funds as soon as possible as I can schedule the surgery as soon as I have half the money to put down.
I lost all the weight and discovered life again, I found the true adventure in enjoying life. My obstacle is my excess skin. I can't jog or run because of my skin, I can barely hike or play or even jump on the trampoline. I feel embarassed on a daily basis and shamed that I have all this excess skin. People stare and some ask questions but others just point and laugh and say look at that guys big belly. They don't know I lost 500 pounds but at this point my life is suffering. I need this more than anyone can imagine. It is causing such a physical and mental strain on myself and my family. I feel like I can't even go to church, I'm afraid to go swimming or go into stores because of all this skin. I want to stay positive and push others to keep moving forward.
With this assistance, I will get my skin removed and be able to move forward with my life. I promise each and every person that donates that you will see a man who can change the world. I have the fire inside, the drive and the motivation to truly push this world in the right direction by using all of my abilities to end childhood obesity and increase the confidence of each and every child in this nation.
