Josh Laepple Kids College Fund

On Wednesday November 4, 2015,  Josh Laepple left this world at the age of 36 years old.  Josh was active and in great health.  Josh left behind a  wife and 3 of the most beautiful young children on this planet.  The children are one, three and six.  Needless to say, these children have been robbed of having their father around for all the life events that are so precious to all of us.  And while we cannot replace their father, perhaps we can ease some of the pain of wondering where college money will come from.

Josh was my cousin's husband.  Josh was not a social media kind of guy.  He didn't have a Facebook or Twitter or Instagram account.  He would rather spend the time one wastes on such things with his children and family.  One of the few accounts he did have was a Fitbit.  He was a chef and he got a LOT of steps in daily. We would constantly encourage and taunt each other about getting our steps in.  About a week before he passed, in fact, we had some fun teasing each other.

Josh's wife has given me his Fitbit and I am going to wear it in his honor for the next year.  My goal is to remember Josh through activity and also raise money so that his three precious children will have a respectable college fund.  My suggestion is to pledge an amount based on how many miles I put in.  To give you an idea, I probably will average 60-70 miles per week.  I think that by doing this based on steps, instead of just giving a fixed dollar amount, it makes it more special.  We can track as a family how much is coming in, and it will be a great motivator to get more steps.  Knowing that each step I take is only a mirror of what Josh would be taking, and that even in passing, he is still providing for his children every single day.  It is with great honor to his wife Kate and my three very young cousins that this campaign is being started.  Please give what you can, even if that is only prayer and support.  Anything will be greatly appreciated.
