We need your help supporting our future engineering and business leaders of Nebraska and America!  We have had a great year competing in Destination Imagination by winning the Regional and recently State competition which now qualifies us to compete in the Global Finals which will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee.  In order to take our team that won first place at the State level, we need to raise $6,300, which really, in the big picture, is a small amount for the experience but a huge cost for our families today. 


Destination Imagination is an educational program where student teams solve open-ended Challenges and present their solutions at tournaments. In working to solve our Challenges, our teams learn important life skills like time management, collaboration, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking.


Westmont Elementary’s team is one of the few teams nationwide to be given the opportunity to participate in the world’s largest creativity festival/competition, Destination Imagination Global Finals at the University of Tennessee.  This is a four day event comparable to no other in that these students will be surrounded by students from around the world and an atmosphere that embraces originality, collaboration, and creativity, while they showcase their own solutions in the competition portion.  


This opportunity is truly a life-changing opportunity for these students.  However, it is also a very expensive opportunity.  It costs about $900 per student for this event.  This is a huge expense for many of our families and it may be the deciding factor in whether or not these students can even participate in this event.  This is where you come in.  Please consider making a donation towards this so that each of these students who have been working for the past 6 months toward this goal can experience this amazing opportunity.
