Travis, Sarah and their 18 month-old, William, live in Spring, TX, in a home that they lease from Travis's parents, Ted and Teresa. On August 28, the house sustained massive damage from flood waters due to Hurricane Harvey. As waters continue to rise, it is looking like Travis and Sarah will have lost literally everything in their house and in Travis's motorcycle garage out back as well.

The home was not in an "at risk" area, so the Westerburs did not have flood insurance on the house and now face insurmountable expenses as they try to rebuild and get Travis, Sarah & William back into their home.

Travis was in a motorcycle accident a few months ago where he suffered broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a compound fracture to his leg that required many surgeries, skin grafts and an extensive hospital stay. He is unable to work at this time, but should hopefully be able to go back to work in 6-8 weeks.

Because Travis is unable to help much physically with the rebuilding, they will greatly appreciate any manpower and help with gutting and rebuilding efforts if you live in the area and can assist. Gift cards to Lowe's or Home Depot would be very helpful as well. (Please contact Becca for the address to mail these.)  All funds raised will go directly to Ted and Teresa for rebuilding expenses.

Thank you for helping via donations or just keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all the support during this difficult time!

Wednesday update! We have finally almost finished painting the home - thanks to many volunteers including Joe Elliott, Julia, Derek Schultz, and Sulem Rowell! Brad Wade gave us another excellent helping hand with the flooring. They got the master bedroom and hall completed. Of course, this is a part of the project that will take awhile. The end is in sight and they are moved in---not real happy with all the dust and concrete but putting down some temporary rug samples for William to walk around on!

Of course, Ted and I have to get back to work so we will put our noses to grind stone Oct 3rd!

I almost forgot one of the best news! Trav went back to work after Dr release! His accident was May 8th --- he is glad to be back working at Harley Davidson.

You know, they say it "takes a village" and we all are so thankful for the wonderful friends and family that helped us financially, through words of encouragement and physically with the tough jobs. We feel very privileged to be helped and in such a good place in the rebuild process. Once again - thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I will give you all a weekend update. We had wonderful help from Travis Paro, Tony Hottell, Brad, Alicia and Maggie Wade. We were able to accomplish a lot but not quite what we hoped. I really shouldn't complain because we are much farther along than many.

Our list of accomplishments:
Door all hung
Trim all up and almost all caulking done
Kitchen cleaned and cabinets lined (no doors on yet)
Entire house taped for painting
Guest bathroom cleaned (muddy mess)
Guest bath half painted
Master bathtub cleaned (ugh -- more mud and wet clothes )
Kitchen painted (with a exception of window around sink)
Alicia taping for paint
Maggie hard at work
Caulking fun / thanks Brad!

All good news! We got all Sheetrock textured and it is drying 2 days and then we can get trim in, doors hung and paint! Of course, the flooring will be put in the very last. These pictures were taken right after texturing but it is coming along! Thanks again - this would never be possible without your love!

Lots done today! Ted hired a crew recommended by EBCO and they put up Sheetrock, taped, floated and tomorrow they plan to texture it! It feels like progress! Seeing light at the end of this! We sure do appreciate everyone thinking of us. It is so heartwarming to feel the love from all! Without others we would still be pulling out drywall!
