Wen Yan's Funeral - Please Help!

My aunt, Wen Yan passed away early yesterday morning 10/24/17 at CHA Everett Hospital at the age of 55.  She is survived by her husband, two daughters, son in law, sister, and many loving friends and family.

My aunt was a loving, hardworking, and generous person and all the positive adjectives combined would not justify how great of a human being she was. After immigrating here from China, she strived to achieve the American dream, providing the best for her family by working to earn enough money for a house and a car. She picked up many side jobs that no one else would do, worked late hours, and still kept a positive attitude at all times.

Aunt Wen Yan always kept her family and friends in mind and would cook for our family, give us home grown vegetables, and always asked us to stay healthy and live the best lives that we could. She always kept a smile on her face and her positive attitude will continue to live on through all of us. Aunt Wen Yan never complained about how hard her job was and never complained about her pain and illnesses. She was strong and determined and always persevered through life's many challenges. She was a simple woman and wished nothing but happiness for all those around her and we will all miss her presence and energy she brought everywhere she went.

The pain that we all feel will take a very long time to heal and we will celebrate her life by remembering all the great times we had with her and the impact she has had on all of us. I will personally miss her voice calling out my name and constantly telling me to exercise and stay healthy all the time. I will miss seeing her beautiful smile at my cousin's wedding. I will miss being all the times we had together.

After the surgeons could not find the exact location of a ruptured artery in her stomach, my aunt was brought to the ICU with plans to transfer her to another hospital if she survived the night. After  30 minutes of CPR and many medications, she was unresponsive, had low blood pressure and her organs and heart were failing because of the lack of blood circulation. We held her as the staff continued to save her, and in the end she lost the battle. She fought until the very end and we are glad we got to stay by her side and to say our goodbyes. I know that she did everything she could and stayed STRONG.

No one can ever truly prepare for the death of a loved one and although I have many regrets from not seeing her enough, or telling her how much I love and appreciated her, I know that she is in a better place now and free of pain. Financially, the funds from this campaign will go towards paying for my aunt's funeral expenses, cemetery costs of opening and closing plot, and headstone. We are still finalizing the costs but the expected amount is somewhere between $20,000 to $30,000 so the donation to my uncle's family will be greatly appreciated. If you find it in your heart to donate, any amount will count. Once this campaign is closed, I will determine if I present the check to my uncle or help him set things up electronically to be the beneficiary.

We have scheduled the wake for Sunday 10/29/17 and the funeral and burial for Monday 10/30/17 as we are would like to lay my aunt to rest as soon as possible.

On behalf of myself and my family, I want to thank you everyone for taking the time to read this!
