My mother was diagnosed with stage 4b endometrial cancer. She has had severe complications and is in the ICU on life support. We have not given up hope - she is still fighting like a champ. We are believing in God for a miracle.
When Nathan and I decided that we wanted to get married, it was a quick decision, even though we've been together for 8 years. Our decision wasn't even finalized until noon on the day of the wedding. It was the most meaningful thing in the world to me to be able to have my mom at my wedding and to bring as many people together to pray for her as possible.
The staff at St. Luke's were extraordinary. I'm still in disbelief and overwhelmed by the kindness and the great lengths they went to in order to make this happen. They took care of literally every single detail of our wedding from decorations, flowers, food, cakes, a photographer, a videographer, and even my wedding dress without hesitation. They truly gave me the most beautiful and special wedding I could have imagined.
Many people have reached out wanting to send wedding gifts to us. Nathan and I honestly have everything we need. However, my family is struggling financially under the heavy burden of medical costs and household bills. My dad is trying to spend every moment possible with her. In lieu of gifts for the bride and groom, we ask that anything you'd like to give be given to my mom and dad. I love each and every single one of you. Keep praying. Keep having faith. Our God is greater than this. As my cousin Christine so perfectly reminded me, "God's delays are not denials!"
