Christian's Brain Trauma Recovery

Update:
September 13, 2016 (by: Deb Trzcinski, Christian's Mom)

Thank you all so very much for your generous donations. The initial funds raised were put to very good use this year toward Christian's recovery from this injury. For the most part, he has healed miraculously, regaining significant function in all manners. Along with your help, we have found tremendous recovery support throughout the community via Sharp Memorial Allison DeRose Rehabilitation Center, SD Brain Trauma Foundation, Mesa College Aqcuired Brain Injury Program and the SD Epilepsy Foundation.

We are updating his status as there is renewed interest in donations due to some recent events.

As Christian began to heal and his abilities increased, the scar tissue in his brain began to cause seizures. In May, he was driving a car, participating regularly in classes at Mesa College, trying out work shifts and returning to playing live music with a band when the first of four grand mal seizures happened (the most recent having occurred on August 31st).

The advent of seizures, very suddenly, put a hault to him returning to work and beginning to generate an income. Doctors are working toward finding the proper medications to prevent the seizures as we are becoming educated in how to live, as well as possible, through these episodes.

Then, on Sunday, September 11, the Harley he had up for sale was stolen, apparently rolled off sometime in the middle of the night. Funds from the sale of the bike were to be put toward his continued recovery and to supplement living expenses while awaiting Social Security disability approval.

Most importantly, we had decided that a portion of the bike sales were to go toward purchasing a service/seizure dog for Christian. These dogs are an invaluable help in mulitiple ways and can certainly be of service, compansionship and support toward a thriving daily life for one with the uncertainty of seizure occurance.

This is where Christian is currently. Friends, family and some very kind folks we don't even know have asked that I re-post this fund raiser so they might be of help.

With much gratitude,
Deb

(as written by Christian's friends in August, 2015) Longtime Coronado resident and CHS alumni, Christian Trzcinski, is in need of our help! Early Thursday morning, he suffered a major head injury while skateboarding. He is currently in stable condition, but remains under intensive care. His road to recovery will be filled with ups and downs and every ounce of hope will help to ensure a full recovery.

Christian is an incredibly kind individual with a warm heart. He is a renowned caretaker of not only his friends and family, but anyone in need. It is now time for us to band together to show this incredible human being the love and support that he truly deserves! We ask that you please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers through this time of tribulation.

Thank you in advance for your heartfelt efforts.
