On our way to MomoCon, we received some amazing news! We were approved to present our panel, Bridging Anime & Hip-Hop, at San Diego Comic-Con. This will be the farthest either of us has traveled for the panel. Because of that, we will need a bit of help to cover airfare and hotels. If you can, we would really appreciate your contribution in helping us go to San Diego to present our panel at one of the biggest conventions in the world.
Who We Are:
Nerds on Hip-Hop is a monthly podcast by pop culture journalist, Victoria Johnson (@missoldskool) and doctoral student/beatmaker, Marcus Wolfe (@TheWolvesDen25). For two and a half years, they’ve hosted the podcast where they discuss hip-hop, anime, comic books, video games, and K-dramas.
The Panel:
As an extension of our podcast, Victoria and Marcus co-host the Nerds On Hip-Hop: Bridging Anime & Hip-Hop panel which discusses the intersection between anime and hip-hop including Samurai Champloo, Tephlon Funk, and more. Last year, Victoria and Marcus co-hosted the panel to a crowd of 300-400 people at Anime NYC in the Javits Center. They later brought it to MomoCon in Atlanta and will present the panel at San Diego Comic Con in July.

What We Need The Money For:
We’ll be staying in San Diego from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22. For that, we’ll need about $1800 to cover airfare, hotels, uber rides, food, and additional expenses.
