WDII Girl-Child Education Fund

Women’s Dignity Initiative Inc., a nonprofit organization is devoted to engaging and supporting middle and high school girls in educationally disadvantaged villages in Nigeria, sub-Saharan Africa, to enroll in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and complete their tertiary education.

Low level of educational attainment, especially among women represents a very serious constraint on development in African countries.

Most parents in rural communities in Nigeria are biased in favor of the education of their sons at the expense of the daughters. Poverty, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, inadequate school infrastructure, cultural and religious misinterpretation are other major contributors to illiteracy in these remote areas.

Women’s Dignity Initiative Inc. (WDII) provides scholarships to financially challenged but gifted and promising girls in STEM in remote villages in Nigeria. We also teach and empower girls to become role models of an ideal woman, the total woman who is worth more than precious jewels; to achieve their full potentials and become successful career and family women who contribute actively to household and national income.

In 2018/2019 academic year, WDII will be making available scholarships that cover textbooks, stationeries, school uniform, bags, and sandals to fifty (50) female students in selected schools in educationally disadvantaged communities in southwestern Nigeria.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fund this project. We would be very grateful to receive your support for our program through your generous donation. Your small donation today will make a big difference in the lives of girls in the remote villages.

Kindly donate to help build the destinies of our girls in Nigerian villages.
