Jason's Medical Expenses

I don't know how or where to begin, because this is completely out of character for me or anyone in my family.... So here goes and I figured this would be somewhere to start. My name is Theresa and I'm doing this in hopes to raise money for my brother Jason who is in desperate need of financial help. I'll start from the begining my brother Jason for the last thirty years has gone to West Virginia with our dad over Thanksgiving week on their annual hunting trip well my dad passed away four years ago and my brother still keeps up their yearly tradition. Well this past November my brother was riding his quad up the ramps to load it in the back of his truck when it flipped and landed on top of him and he was knocked unconscious at that point my sister- inlaw and her son ran outside to get it off of him he then regained consciousness and said he had a headache yet didn't think he needed to go to the hospital....... A few days have now passed and my brother, sister-inlaw and my daughter start their journey to West Virgina though out the week I'd spoken to my daughter multiple times a day and every time she kept saying to me.....Mom uncle Jason just doesn't seem ok when you talk to him he seems to be in his own world so now it's been a week and they are making the trip back home.... The next morning my brother woke up went to the kitchen to make coffee well he went to fill the sugar jar and realized he couldn't use his right arm because he had no feeling in it he proceeds to wake up my sister-inlaw and she takes him to the hospital. My brother was diaginosed with a severe concussion and had fractured his C3 through C7 vertebraes in his neck at this point the doctor wanted to exhaust all options before surgery so now at this point my brother had to wear a neck brace 24/7 until Febuary 15th up until this day he had gone in to see his doctor had numerous mri's, physical therapy and steroid injections to try and bring down the swelling well on the 15th of Feb. my brother started losing feeling in his legs and feet and was stumbling more so then not so my sister-inlaw rushed him to the hospital and my brother was informed that paralysis was setting in he met with his doctor the following morning which was the 16th and he had explained to my brother that to no avail he compared all the mri's and the fractures were not getting any better and that he need surgery. The nurses hooked my brother up to an IV and started high doses of steriods to bring the swelling down as much as possible so they could do the surgery. Well today is the 19th and my brother under went an 8 hour surgery and had a 5 disk fusion not only was this a very dangerous surgery but the recovery is very long as of right now he will spend 2 days in the ICU so they can make sure the spinal cord doesn't swell, because once the doctor opened him up he found that his spine was being more compressed then what was seen on the mri's so there is a chance that the spinal cord will swell.....After the 2 days in ICU he will spend 3 days in a regular room and from there 2 to 3 weeks of inpatient rehab. So with all this said my brother has not been able to work since the third week in November. My brother has a CDL and drives a truck which he will no longer be able to do due to the fact that he lost 90% of his mobility with his neck by having to have the fusion done because had he not and waited the doctor said he would of been paraylsed from the neck down most likely within a month. Now that I've explained what happened to my brother I will also explain the financial strain this has put on him and his wife along with the mountain of medical bills my sister-inlaw cannot afford all the regular bills a mortgage and the medical bills as well and they will probably land up having to sell their home and move into a condo so with all this said I would be beyond grateful if anyone could help in my brothers time of need he's always been a great hard working man and I know if he came across anothers situation or hardship he would help in anyway possible so please take the time to read my brothers story and share it so I can help him as much as possible seeing him like this physically breaks my heart as well as knowing how he feels about their financial situation .
