Boaz's Battle Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Less than a month ago a beautiful family's life was turned upside down in a matter of moments.

The Godfrey's 3rd grade son, Boaz, became very ill. After being sick for several weeks with no indications of improvement, Boaz landed in the ER on Friday, November 20th, for additional testing.  At that time, Boaz's initial diagnostic testing came back negative. Based upon those results, an MRI of his head was ordered.  Within hours, the Godfrey's worries turned terror, having found out their son had a brain tumor.

Less than 48 hours later he underwent a 9 hour brain surgery to remove a tumor they thought was the size of a walnut but turned out to be the size of an egg.  Boaz survived this risky extraction at which time they removed 95% of the tumor.  After several agonizing weeks awaiting biopsy results, they learned the news no parent should ever have to hear.  Boaz was afflicted with medulloblastoma, a very aggressive, fast growing kind of brain cancer. They also discovered several other lesions in the frontal lobe of his brain.

The Godfrey's life has forever changed.  They now sit at his bedside 24 hours a day praying for a glimpse of the once happy, active, chatty child.  Boaz has become mute, has lost movement of his right arm & the ability to swallow due to brain swelling.   His 3 year old little sister cries each and every day asking when brother will come home. This family has never cried so many tears or felt such deep pain.  Yet, even in this heartbreaking life changing event, God has been gracious to them by providing love, support and prayers through family and friends.

This journey for their family is going to be a long one. Each day possesses new highs, lows & unknowns...and questions that cannot be answered.  Boaz's long term treatment plan will include radiation, chemotherapy & possible further extractions of the tumors over an extended period of time.

Boaz's mom no longer gets the privilege of being a teacher to her precious 2nd grade students. She and her husband are now learning medical terms, procedures and names of things no parents should ever have to learn. They are not only concerned about their son’s survival, but how the family is going to take the time off needed to care for him and support the family financially as well.  Any donation to help support this amazing family would be greatly appreciated, they have a long journey ahead of them! Thank you in advance for your support and much needed prayers.
