Paying Tribute To Wayne Harwood

On Wednesday evening, July 10th, Wayne Harwood, 25 years old, was heading back home on his skateboard after skateboarding in Portland, Maine. He was only a short distance away from his apartment when he was struck by a white Sedan. The driver immediately fled the scene and left him there. As of now, the driver still has not been found. Sadly, Wayne suffered severe head trauma and passed away Friday, July 12th, at 4:50p.m. He never regained consciousness because his head injuries were too severe. Wayne was an easy going person who had the natural ability to make people laugh. As a result, he was loved by so many people. He loved nature and especially enjoyed hiking in the woods. He was compassionate and had a love for animals. Throughout his life spending time with his pets was very important to him; particularly his pet flying squirrel who he named Pilot and his cat, Skittles, whom he loved deeply. Wayne was a guy who was filled with kindness, was always thinking of others and truly had a passion for life.  Please keep Wayne's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this tragic loss. To help the family with this unexpected tragedy we are asking for help for the cost of the memorial service and burial. We're very grateful for the generosity of anyone who is able to help the family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
