Wasser marsch! Der Anschluss für die Eco-Farm

Wir, Matthew Onyeanula (30) und Nora Gajewski (30), haben eine Vision: Die Kraft der Natur nutzen und die "grüne" Landwirtschaft voranbringen. Die Pflanzen vieler Felder unserer Welt werden mit Chemikalien belastet und die Böden mit einseitigem Anbau unbrauchbar. Doch mit dem richtigen Wissen, können wir vollständig auf Schadstoffe verzichten und die Umwelt schützen.
Matt ist Besitzer einer Eco-Farm in Have, einem Paradies in der hügeligen Landschaft der Volta Region in Ghana. Unsere Wege kreuzten sich glücklicherweise Anfang des Jahres, wo wir zusammen sein Projekt „Mattlawie Ecological“ vorangetrieben haben.
Der begeisterte Ökologe und Klimaaktivist ist nicht nur ein herzensguter Gastgeber, sonder ein mitreißender Lehrer, der mit seiner Farm unter Beweis stellt, dass ein selbstständig funktionierender Kreislauf auf jegliche Schadstoffe verzichten kann und sich ein natürliches Ökosystem selbst in Einklang hält. Das zeigte bereits unsere große Ernte von Yam, Maniok, Ingwer, Kurkuma, Süßkartoffeln, Mangos, Citronella, Moringa, die wir an hilfsbedürftige Menschen im Dorf Have verteilen konnten.
Doch nicht nur dem Anbau soll diese Farm dienen, sondern in Zukunft auch zum Lernzentrum und Treffpunkt für die wachsende Community werden.

Was wir benötigen? Eine für uns in Deutschland selbstverständliche Ressource – Wasser! Die Farm hat derzeit noch keinen Wasseranschluss, weshalb die Arbeit für lange Zeit im Jahr still steht.
Warum? In der Trockenzeit zwischen November und April gibt es keinen Niederschlag. Um ganzjährig anbauen zu können, benötigen wir dringend Wasser. Auch für den Bau eines Schulungsgebäudes, der Unterkunft für Volunteers sowie einer Sanitären-Anlage ist der Wasseranschluss zwingend notwendig.
Wie wir das Geld einsetzen? Mit dem Betrag wollen wir einen Wasseranschluss bohren lassen, eine Pumpe installieren und einen ausreichend großen Tank kaufen, um nur punktuell Strom für das Hochpumpen des Wassers zu benötigen.

Matthew Onyeanula and me, Nora Gajewski, share one vision: Using the power of nature and making the agriculture sustainable for our planet. Way to many fields around the world are contaminated by chemicals and are unusable because of a monocropping. Eco farming enables us to avoid all chemicals completely in order to save the environment.
Matt is the owner of an eco farm in Have, a paradise in a valley of the Volta Region in Ghana. We met each other in the beginning of this year, when we worked for his project “Mattlawie Ecological”. He is an enthusiastically working as an ecologist, climate change activist and also a great teacher. He proves with his farm that a self sustainable process of farming is successful without any use of pesticides and therefor a natural ecosystem works on its own without any contamination of the soil. As our last harvest of yam, cassava, ginger, turmeric, sweet potato, mango, citronella and mooring not only proved to be of exceptional quality but also excelled the expectations in quantity. We were able to share with people from the community of Have, who were in need.
We want to make the farm to a place for planting, meeting and teaching, to raise the community awareness and push the green revolution.
What do we need? We need the most important resource for life – water! We need to drill and install a water pump as well as a water tank.
Why? Ghana’s dry season lasts from November to April. In that time we have no rain at all so it’s not possible to seed, plant and harvest. We also want to build a house to teach in and accommodations with sanitary facilities for volunteers and visitors.
