Warriors of Light Foundation

As an educator in Las Vegas, I seen far to many students give up on their education and believe they are not capable of learning. Far too many students have very little hopes or aspirations. They lack drive and a desire/belief that they can live in a better world. They lack good role models and mentors to help guide them to create a better world and live a better life. As a result, I have started this journey of creating a non-profit called The Warriors of Light Foundation. I firmly believe every student is capable of being saved and becoming a powerful influence in their community.  Through this non-profit we teach our students different values and life lessons that we derive from the book "Warrior of the Light" by Paulo Coelho. Following that we teach students to play chess and provide educational service such as tutoring and educational lessons to help expand their views of the world. Lastly, we follow everything up with boxing as our vehicle towards helping them become hard working, motivated citizens in their community who fight to make a difference. The self-confidence and desire to grow and learn has been evident thus far. With my co-facilitator in the program, we have been operating out of our own homes, with my home serving to provide the educational portion and my co-facilitators home to provide the boxing portion. As of right now. word is slowly spreading about what we are doing and more kids wish to join. At the moment, we are low on resources and so it is becoming difficult to provide effective training for each of our kids and families. Everything we do is for free along with the transportation we provide. Right now we are asking for funds to help us with providing our students with the materials they need and the funds we need to establish ourselves as a nonprofit. To establish ourselves as a non-profit and get assistance from an attorney we need $2,500. We also seek to buy jump ropes, hand wraps, books of "Warrior of the Light", chess boards, headgear, mouth guards, and boxing gloves. We greatly appreciate any support you can provide and so will the youth and families we train with.
