Callen Busch lives the life that Paul was asking the church in Thessalonica to live. He lives quietly and simply, he loves to create, work with his hands, and be self reliant, providing for his little family. His wife, Lexi, is pregnant with their first child, who is due in June. Up until recently, Callen has shared a woodworking/shaping shop with friends. The workshop has been used as a source of side income for Callen. He's spent his days working at Fastlane Sailing and Kayaking, and his evenings creating things with his hands at the workshop, making money on the side to support his growing family.
April 12, 2019 this workshop caught fire in the middle of the night and everything was destroyed. Thousands of dollars of tools, over $10,000 of personal surfboards, and a recently finished project Callen had spent weeks to finish valued at thousands, all gone in minutes.
The monetary hit that Callen and Lexi have taken is substantial, but this workshop was much more. It was a source of income and independence. It was a creative escape for Callen and for those who shared the warehouse.
Callen would never ask for assistance in this recovery. He works hard to care for himself and his family and mind his own affairs, but this is our chance to step in and help. Every little bit will make a massive difference in a guy's life that truly deserves it.
