Living Stone is a clinic in the city of Stanton (with sister clinics throughout the Orange County, California region) committed to providing charitable medical services.
Several years ago, with guidance and support from the clinic's director (who dedicates much of his time and efforts to charitable works both at his clinic and overseas), a group of passionate students chartered a club to help Living Stone make a greater impact in the international community. This organization was named Walking Out of Poverty.
Over the years, Living Stone and Walking Out of Poverty have been dedicated to providing educational and medical supplies to a small, impoverished community in Tlaquepaque, near Guadalajara, Mexico. Twice a month, through joint fundraising efforts, the two organizations have been able to provide students in this underserved community - most of whom can't even afford a proper pair of shoes, let alone attend school - with educational supplies and other much-needed materials.
This summer, members of Walking Out of Poverty will be travelling to Guadalajara, Mexico to host a weekend-long event for these children. Throughout this year, these student leaders have worked hard to build a successful partnership with a shoe company in Mexico that has pledged to donate and help us distribute shoes to every single child in attendance. In addition to the shoe distribution, there are several exciting and memorable events planned for the participants - like ice cream making classes and arts & crafts activities.
Now, Walking Out of Poverty is asking for YOUR HELP in making this weekend-long event for the 120+ underserved childrena most memorable one. There are many ways you can help!
