WABANAKI SPRING SOCIAL 2017
Our Wabanaki Elders and the Spring Social committee have been bringing the Spring Social to you for years.
This being the 20th year!
Through kindness of donations from local businesses, tireless fundraising efforts by committee members, fees charged to vendors, and donations from organizations that have been associated with the social; this is how we've been able to bring you the Spring Social for two decades now.
The purpose of the Spring Social is to help give us a time and place to see old friends, visit with elders, dance, sing, heal, and make new friends.
The funding obtained through the Spring Social Committee goes to cover: Location rental, tables, chairs, honorariums for drum groups, supplies, and rooms for elders that can not travel due to long trips and health issues.
We're asking YOU to please help us! Since the first Wabanaki Spring Social we have grown to over 700+ people through the doors. The Brewer Armory... out grew it, The Brewer Auditorium... out grew it, Now we're onto the Anah Shriners' building on Broadway...
With the new space comes a much heavier rental fee (space, tables, chairs, and kitchen) and this is where we hope you come in to help us continue to grow together as a community and keep helping to make this the pinnacle of our Wabanaki elders' upcoming year.
As always allies are welcome to donate and join us on our celebration of being Wabanaki.
