Rally for Ray

Hello - 

The Waterford Rescue Squad (WRS) and Defreestville Fire Department (DFD) request your support for the "Rally for Ray" Swart fundraising campaign.  Currently the Chief of Operations for WRS, Ray has been with the WRS since 1995; he is also an active member for 30-plus years and Past Chief of the DFD. 

For over 20 years, Ray has suffered with pancreatitis, causing him to periodically be in and out of medical facilities for various procedures.  A recent procedure has left Ray critically ill. He is currently on a ventilator and is under heavy sedation. Ray is in the ICU of a local hospital, battling multiple complications including sepsis.  

The focus of Ray’s career with both WRS and DFD has been to educate people and provide top quality first responder care, whether medical or firematic.  Now, in a combined effort, WRS and DFD are asking for your support at this critical time.  In the short-term, his immediate family fights the daily battles of facing life without their father and husband. Ray’s first responder family is doing the best they can to support the family while Ray's medical providers determine the best treatment plans moving forward.

Your contribution to the "Rally for Ray” campaign will 100% support the Swart family over the long-term, helping them focus on responding to what Ray needs most, which is an increasingly complex amount of medical care and treatment.  Any donation amount you choose to give will be appreciated as his wife and two young boys face this challenging journey.
