Good Samaritan - Keith Lucas's Rent

On Wednesday Nov. 29, 2017 I was getting gasoline at the Exxon on the corner of Bissonet & Kirby in Houston, TX. I had just come from the Chase bank where I made a deposit about a block away.  I stepped out of the car to put the gas pumped in and started filling up. I went back to sit inside and wait. When I opened my driver’s side door I saw my passenger door shut. Someone was holding my Tory Burch work bag and my Burberry purse as they jumped into the backseat of an older silver Infiniti sedan and took off. It happened so fast! As the minutes past the magnitude of what just happened started to sink in. I couldn't move or start my car because my keys were in my purse. My work laptop, calendar, spiral notebook that I take important notes about work stuff and make To Do lists in, my wallet with my credit & debit card, driver's license, makeup, new sunglasses and all the favorte things I like to keep in my purse, they were gone.... I took action immediately and called the cops, had the station clerk check survalence, and cancelled everything. About an hour later as I stood in the gas station waiting on my brother to come get me, I got a phone call. The gentleman asked if I was Christal Rowe. He said he'd found my purses on the sidewalk near an intersection. He thought someone had been kidnapped. He was with his girlfriend, Lisa,  and they both wanted to find the owner.  I told him I had no way to get to him and he said he would bring the bags to me. Admittingly, I was supicious at first. How in the world was I about to get my purses back? He pulled up in his older pick up and had both bags in hand. As he was telling me the story I was going through my things. NOTHING was missing!
Mr. Lucas did a good thing. He did not have to try to contact me. He and his girlfiend could have sold my purses for some quick cash. He saved me from a major headache of replacing my driver's license and cards. Not to mention losing some nice bags that I've worked very hard for. Most of the time it doesn't turn out like this. I think God for His favor and for choosing Mr. Lucas to find my purses.
Mr. Lucas was standing on the corner of Sheppard and Hwy 59 with a sign asking for money since he's in between jobs. He was very apprehensive about sharing that part but I told him he needed to. ABC Channel 13 in Houston did a story on this tonight (11-30-17) and I will attach the video. I asked Mr. Lucas what he needed. He said he did it because it was the right thing to do and he didn't expect anything. Well, too bad! I want to do my best to help him. I told him I was going to try to raise his December rent which is $1300. He and his girlfriend are staying in a hotel on Dixie Rd.
Will you please join me in paying it forward to Mr. Lucas? How about a few bucks towards his rent so that he can enjoy his holidays without the worry.

Also, DO NOT forget to lock your doors while pumping gas!!!

Thank you and God Bless You!!
