Coco

I've had Coco for literally half my life, since I was 15 and she came to us as a stray, a scraggly little Burmese with infected teeth and a funny walk. She has been with me through my high school years, the birth of both my children, the breakup of my relationship, my mother's death, my wedding. This stupid little cat means more to me than I can say.

Last night her breathing became labored and I hoped it was just a cold. Today it was worse. Now she is at the vet's with fluid on her lungs and no idea whether we can buy her a month, six months, maybe a year or two if we're lucky. But even a month would give me a chance to say goodbye to a tiny little cat who has been such a huge part of my life. And it's going to be expensive, even for that small amount of time, but if I could I would trade everything I have for another cuddle and the sound of her purr and the feel of her small warm body in my lap or curled up in the crook of my shoulder while I sleep.

The overnight stay tonight is costing $1500-1800, that's for pain relief, diagnostics and draining the fluid from her chest. We are looking at 300-600 every 12 hours after that. Needless to say I am hoping to do everything I can to both prolong Coco's life or, at the very least, to make her comfortable.

Every dollar will help. Thank you so much for reading, for your thoughts and your time.

Here are a collection of occasionally humorous and cute pics of Coco and family for your consideration.
