The Fake Boys new double lp
Donation protected
The short version is we are looking to offset the cost of pressing a double lp through donations that will get you a free copy of said record when it comes out, among other prizes. Here's the long winded story :
Hi friends. It's been too long, how's things? Our little band has had an eventful few years since we last saw you. You might have thought we broke up, broke down, or just became broke, and you wouldn't be wrong (except for breaking up, we're never fucking breaking up). Since touring constantly for several years had beat the shit out of us physically, emotionally, and financially we decided to shift gears. We've been recuperating, hiding out in practice spaces, basements and home studios taking inspiration from every possible experience, writing, recording demos, playing videogames, eating wings, and refining a new batch of songs that we all think are the most honest example of where our heads are at as people and as a group. This new record is going to be called "I love my life when you're around " and will be released by the unparalleled Animal Style Records out of California. We've spent over a year in the studio laying this down with the intention of having it sound perfect for a vinyl format. Without realizing it, we've made a pretty long record. Too long and too awesome in fact to fit all on one lp. So that brings us to why we're here. Pressing a normal record is expensive enough, not to mention paying for mastering, artwork, ect. Double lp = double the price. This also poses a problem for marketing the record after its release. The high cost of producing it will translate to a higher price for the record in stores or at shows making it more difficult to sell. The three dudes in this band are all fully prepared to sell our crappy possessions, take 3rd and 4th jobs, and dip into retirement plans that may or may not exist just to see that this project finished and given the proper treatment it deserves. We also strive to keep the cost to you, who have already given us so much, as low as possible. To achieve this we want to contribute a good amount of our own money to the pressing process, with no expectations of recouping those funds. This page exists just so that if anyone out there feels like they would like to help out with the cause they are able to. We feel awkward asking for money for nothing, so your donation will get you a copy of the record once it comes out, along with something special and personal inside ;) We will also have the original reference lacquer and test pressings to go to the top 3 highest donations along with some other rare records and limited edition tshirts that will ship in the months before the record is released. If you have any questions about all this or just want to chat, feel free to email us at [email redacted]. Thanks for reading, be excellent to each other.
