Fighting for life

Dennis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February of this year. He has endured 1 round of chemo and radiation each. Currently he is undergoing his second round of chemo. Hopefully the tumor on the head of his pancreas will have shrunk enough to remove soon..
Our community in Fort Bragg Ca has been extremely generous by helping with our lodging and drug costs thru this nightmare. We are extremely thankful for this financial and moral support.
We still have a ways to go and still need all the support we can get. The surgery, hopefully in the near future, and recovery process are still looming but are welcome as well. Dennis truly wants to get on with his life here in the town he loves.
Thank you all for sending Dennis the courage to fight.

Update for Friends and Family of Dennis! We're in SF and leaving 2days early because Dennis's Oncologist thinks he's had enough chemo for a little while and wants him back in a month to start the sessions again. Dennis's platelets have dipped way too low and chemo can only make it worse. Actually Dennis thrilled at this turnaround and is welcoming 3 weeks at home. Once again we thank all of you for your wonderful energy and help through these trying times. Can't wait for Spring!!!!

Friends and Family of Dennis, thank you once again for your invaluable support. We arrived back home last night from another chemo session in SF. We're told to be patient, continue treatment and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Dennis might be involved in a clinical trial of some sort if his tumor doesn't hurry up and get the message. He's all for it! More to come. OXO

Friends and Family of Dennis Dias! We're back from another round of chemo and testing.....felt like kissing the ground when we got out of the car!!The doctors are talking about taking a look (surgery) at the tumor but haven't set a date. Dennis is all for it and maybe they'll take the dang thing out! We're hoping and praying and feel the positive energy coming from you all.
We want to thank our donors again for the financial help we've received as our resources disappear after a year of this craziness.
Ever onward! OXO

I look at the response to this appeal today and think how lucky I am, we all are not only to know Dennis and Cat, but to live in a community that cares and gives what they can for their friends and neighbors. With all the sad news in the world today, it is wonderful to know we live in a community that can respond so fast to a friend in need. Thank you all...and keep on fighting, Dennis and Cat!
