On June 3rd 2018 there was a massive volcano eruption in Guatemala (Volcan de Fuego). More than 1 million people have been affected by this disaster. People have lost their homes/families. We are looking to fundraise money for water filters, stoves and new homes.
We are a group of Guatemalans who want to support the people affected by the eruption with long-term aid.
The money fundraised will go directly to: buying water filters from Ecofiltro (https://ecofiltro.com/en), New Homes from the 'Asociación Bendición de Dios' Organization (http://www.bendiciondedios.org/) and eco-stoves from 'The International Esperanza Project Organization' (https://www.internationalesperanzaproject.org/wood-saving-stoves/)
Because we are working with three different organizations, the money will be withdrawn from a personal account and will be directly transferred to Ecofiltro, Asociación Bendición de Dios and The International Esperanza Project.
The 150 water filters will be distributed by a team from Enlace AC Guatemala (http://www.enlace.edu.gt/es/) to schools in the areas afected, specifically: Sacatepéquez, Alotenango and Escuintla.
The eco-stoves will be distributed by a team of the International Esperanza Project who will focus in installing eco-stoves in the homes of people affected in Alotenango. This team will start going to the area to install eco-stoves starting on Wednesday 6th.
The construction of the new homes will be organized by a local team from Asociación Bendición de Dios Organization who will go to Alotenango.
