Kilauea Volcano Disaster

Donation protected
5/21/18  We were told Saturday that our home was not visible from the air. Today, the County of Hawaii confirmed that our home is gone and lava now stands in its place. Lava has taken almost everyhting we have in the world.   As we have always been self-employed, we invested in land to secure our future and retirement. However, we are both between 65 and 70 and now have nearly nothing. We have lost our home that Jim built for us, our retirement and our way to earn a living when the lava took the dozer.   We are devastated.

We are both in shock and very emotional. I keep remembering the things that we have lost forever, such as a bowl that my mother gave me when I was younger; the palm tree my father planted before he passed away; the spot my daughter was married. I must admit that we are at a loss as to what to do next. Where do you go when you have lost your family home and the place you have called home for decades.

Please keep us in your thought and prayers.
Also, please spread the word about our go fund me page as things seem to only be getting worse.

5/18/18  So it is official, we are now completely displaced as lava is surrounding our home and it is isolated from access. The lava was moving really fast and Jim got caught on the other side of the lava. He had to drive through the jungle to get in front of the lava and barely escaped while in doing so ruining the transmission of his truck. We then had to evacuate from the house we were temporarily staying at due to the most recent flow. This was a frantic move as the lava was headed straight for our friends home and moving faster than we have ever seen. We are now staying in another temporary location. This house is empty. Everything has been left behind except a few things and our pets. We have minimal food and clothes. We have now also lost the one piece of equipment that would allow Jim to work and earn a living while we are displaced. Given that lava has covered all road access to our home we know we will be displaced for a long time at best. At this time we do not know whether the lava or fire has reached our home.

Any help is appreciated, however, we received a card/gift from a friend through the mail and it had been cut open and was empty except for the card itself. As such, we ask that any gifts be sent through go fund me or dropped of with our children.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

The sky is red from the volcanic glow and the emissions cause explosions where it sound like we are in a war zone.

We need help now.
