Voices of Canadians about Lyme

Donation protected
Lyme disease is the fastest-growing vector-borne disease in Canada. Its numbers are vastly under-reported and patients who go undiagnosed and untreated can be stricken with debilitating symptoms for many years afterward.

On Saturday June 3, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm., in cities across Canada, VOCAL will be hosting events to raise awareness of Lyme disease, including galas, walks and demonstrations.

In the nation’s capital, VOCAL Ottawa plans to make a particularly big splash. At our event on Parliament Hill, attendees will hear important speakers including persons living with Lyme Disease, celebrity advocates, doctors, policy makers, researchers and musical guests. The goal of this event is to raise awareness about this potentially debilitating but little-understood illness, while uniting all sufferers from across Canada.

Funds raised will be used to cover the numerous costs associated with orchestrating this event such as: travel and accommodation for guest speakers, costs of the rental of audio-visual and sound equipment, printing, and much more!

Additional funds will be used to further VOCAL's cause moving forward, and help to make LYME prevention and management a part of Canadian Healthcare policy.

This event is a crucial aspect of this growing cause that will become increasingly important to Canadians in the coming years and decades.
