Voices for Vinnie

“You Have Cancer.” Three words that you never think you will hear. The shock, the sadness, the hopelessness, the fear attached seems impossible to comprehend. Three words that are powerful enough to turn one’s life upside down in an instant.

Three words that grab hold and take ownership dictating what the next steps of what your life will be. You hold your breath, and try to hold on, because the kind of cancer you’ve been told you have has claimed all of what you’ve ever known. You have stage 3 esophageal cancer…Now, what?  You are a singer.

This where the story for “Our Vinnie” begins.

Following an illustrious 50 year career in the entertainment industry, singer, Vinnie Talarico is faced with this devastating reality.

Since his diagnosis in September of 2017, the journey has been very long, and very tedious. He receives a cocktail of vigorous chemo (the first round saw no result), and radiation daily resulting in severe side affects.

Vinnie is unable to eat. Let alone sing. Singing is how he provided for his family all these years. Medical bills are piling up due to rejected claims from their insurance company. His beautiful wife Mary is doing all she can to keep afloat, but the stress of this unexpected situation combined with the responsibility of being the sole care-taker of her 91 year old mother who lives with them, has dramatically altered their daily life.

If you are lucky enough to know Mary and Vinnie, whether it be personally or professionally, It can be agreed that these are two of the most selfless, generous, giving, kind-hearted people. They have given so much, to so many, so completely over the years, that it is time for us to rally in support of them.

They are our family. In times of need, families come together. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
