I'm Vincent, a guy who picked up and moved his life across country from Northern California, to South Florida. While doing so, I left 3 old vehicles, my dog, family, friends, and almost everything else I cared about behind. To this day, most of my posessions are in a 10'x20' storage unit, packed to the gills, over three-thousand miles away!

Now, 3 years later, I'm still paying a not-so-affordable fee to store all of these things and vehicles that I can't access. My family has relocated across country, and I've been able to recover my beloved dog India. Meanwhile, more and more often as of late, I have been needing things I already have in this locker. This is a locker I can no longer justify having. It's true what they say. “The things they you own end up owning you.” Also, who needs 4 vehicles?! I don't! I do need my truck as soon as possible, but I would like to get rid of the car and motorcycle. All 3 of which are actually somewhat taken apart right now, but can be quickly put back together upon arrival. I will be attempting to sell or scrap the vehicles ASAP, even while I am here in Florida

Next month, my girlfriend Whitney and I will have a small window to handle business, but we need help, financial help. This is where we are looking to the community for any possible assistance. We've been exploring options and have come up with what we feel is the best solution. It would be best to fly out, pick up my truck, sell off or donate as much as possible, rent a small UHaul trailer and bring the necessities back into my life. This will not only save money in the long run, but will also help bring closure to an unproductive situation. I have been so inspired by those of you that live such a possession-light life! Trying to go more zen-minimalist style.

So, here's the break-down:

Renting the trailer and driving it cross-country will cost $1200.

Driving the truck, with trailer in tow, at a rate of an estimated 10mpg, and with an average fuel cost of $2.50/gal, across 3,200mi. or 320Gal,  will cost another $800.

Airfare will be about $400 or so, depending on how soon we can secure the tickets

Transport from the airport will be about $100

Lodging/camping will easily cost another $1000 over the 2 week period of downsizing and traveling. We explored a handful of other options, such as renting a UHaul truck and towing the truck of my own behind, using freight shipping, shipping on trains, etc. None of which were even close to fiscally responsible or practical.

I am planning on getting a credit card on Tuesday, either from Chase, which is currently offering a $150 bonus upon the first $500 spent, or a fuel card which can offer a discount of $0.25/gal.  Still, the effectiveness of the option relies entirely upon the limit granted,

The truck will need about $1,000 in quick suspension work, before it can tow the trailer cross-country.

We are amped, excited, and ready to go! We need the funds within the next two weeks, by April 1st! A total of $4,500 is expected, but, as any weary traveler knows, unexpected expenses may arrise at any time, and can leave the unprepared stranded. In light of this, I feel it would be best to aim for a cushion of $1,500.

All-in-all, we are looking to raise $6,000 to make this happen,

It would completely change my life to be able to make this happen!

(This idea started as a joke, but we figure what the heck! If someone is willing to help us out this much, they deserve the Dudoir Calendar!)
