We had discovered my father had a bloodclot in his blood vessel near the heart, when we sent him in the emergency due to the pain in his arm. We had also discovered he had a mild stroke, doctors found little spots in his brain. He was suppose to undergo a procedure but was cancelled and deemed stable enough to leave the hospital. He was going to be under surveillance in the span of 3 months to see if he would still need the surgery.
However, in just a day of post hospitalization, he had a seizure and was sent to the emergency again. The bloodclot had spread all throughout his body. This was a much more threatening episode, it would cost him his life...
Due to extreme complications: he couldn't undergo a brain decompression due to the blood thinners; he couldn't undergo bloodclot removal due to the brain condition; he couldn't undergo to leg amputation due to his heart condition. The doctors were stuck between a rock and a hard place. They reached out everyone who they could reach, but to no avail. They told us to be ready, it was only a matter of time.
The longest, most surreal day I've experience in life. I saw my father decline: from subtle movements of unconfortablility, to mere tears, to just breathing with the help of a breathing machine. It was only after I saw his eyes the following morning when I knew his battle was over.
We took him from life support so he can rest.
He had always wished to retire in the Philippines.
We now face a financial battle, we had not work in a week and wont be working in the following weeks. We live in a bi-weekly paycheck basis, we needed every cent of it to suffice our expenses.
We need help. Help to suffice the viewing and cremating services and other fees, tickets to fly out father to the Philippines, and buy a resting place for him. All of this is too much for our wallets to carry even with all the financial assistance we could gather.
