 NEW YORK, NY
Hello everyone. I'm Victoria Pannell and I'm 17 years of age. For years I have proudly worked with other organizations and now have come to realize it is time to officially step out on my own. Talking at young people is not going to be enough in stopping the violence that's plaguing our neighborhoods. Poverty and lack of a proper education are stumbling blocks that's holding back so many children. We can not tell young people to have hope when all they see is bleakness in their future. They need tools to have a better future. They need state IDs, passports, bank accounts, jobs and financial literacy. They need to learn to use social media as an effective networking tool. They need to know that money for college will be there for them. They need an organization that will supply the necessities to help achieve their goals. This is where Tools For Change comes in. For the last two years I have been thinking about starting a non profit that will help supply the necessary tools to help eradicate social and economical disadvantages and generational poverty. The time to start this foundation is now. Although I hate asking for help, I need help to get the foundation started and that is why I'm turning to crowdfunding. There are so many people and organizations asking for money that you may wonder what makes me different. Let my record speak for itself. For the past 12 years, my mom and I have given out over 500 bags of groceries per year. We volunteer and send supplies and food all over the country during natural disasters. We recently opened savings accounts for ten young people with an initial deposit of one hundred dollars each. We have exposed young people to Broadway, concerts and sporting events. I have helped children and adults get their state IDs from assisting with the paperwork to speeding up the process at DMV. We just started a stock club where young people will learn about investments and financial literacy. We have done so much but we could do even more with a non profit. Please help me get Tools For Change started. The money will be used to start the foundation and fund some of the programs already in place. With or without a donation, I appreciate you taking the time to read about my vision. Thank you. Victoria Pannell.

My one year vision for Tools For Change is to help at least one hundred young people or more obtain basic life tools and skills that will a make a huge difference in their future. I'm taking Tools For Change to a new level. This is what I want. This is my vision. Help me replace guns in young people's hands with tools they can build on. It's hard to hold a gun in your hand when you are holding a passport, ID and a savings account. I want 100 passports, 100 state ID cards along with the NYC ID card for city discounts, 100 savings accounts with $100 initial deposit, 100 magazine subscriptions to Forbes, Inc and Black Enterprise, driving lessons to 100 young people taught by my mom, (my mom taught a lot of people to drive including a lot of our FB friends), prepare 100 resumes, help middle school students with applying and auditioning for specialized high schools (I didn't have a guidance counselor to help me with this), hiring experts and counselors to help students apply to colleges and obtain scholarships. If you know a young person who is on the edge of destruction and you think I or Tools For Change can help let me know. Thanks to all those who have supported us.

Hello Supporters, Again I would like to thank each of you who have supported me in the past. On May 29th Tools For Change had a grocery giveaway in Wright Brothers Park to bring awareness about increased drug use in parks and communities. Drugs don't belong in our parks and playgrounds. Adults were welcome to a bag of groceries if they signed a pledge not to do drugs in parks, playgrounds and around children. We have to do better for our young people but that also starts with adults around the young people. I'm more determined than ever to make Tools For Change a top 501c3 in helping young people get basic life tools for a better future. My next project is the World Passport party on June 25th. With help from supporters we are trying to obtain passports for ten young people. When I received my passport two years ago it was like the whole world arrived in my mailbox. I knew this was the beginning of me traveling the world one day. I went from dreaming about international traveling to knowing it would become a reality I want other young people to know what that feels like. The first week of July we will start back with our lunch giveaway in an impoverished neighborhood. Our lunch giveaways last summer was a huge success. Not only did we feed hundreds but we were successful in bringing not only awareness but actual change to the K2 epidemic. Some people quit drugs with encouragement from us and local laws were passed making the selling of K2 a crime. Stores selling K2 were also shut down. I'm extremely proud of the work we put into the summer of 2015. I want to do even more the summer of 2016. Thank you for your donations and words of encouragement. It is appreciated.

Thanks so much to everyone that donated to TFC. I filed the papers for the 501c3!!! This has been a 4 year dream of mine! Easter Sunday, Tools For Change partnered with a local ministry and fed over 152 people a hot Easter dinner and gave out care packages. It was the best Easter I ever had. Next on the agenda for TFC is a World Party for at least 7 young people. We will have a party with food from 7 different countries and video clips highlighting those 7 countries. After that we will do the paperwork to give those 7 young people their passports. You can't tell young people they can do anything or go anywhere and they don't have the proper tool to do it which in this case is a passport. A passport is also one of the best forms of ID you can have. I have been talking to one of the best tech companies in the country to bring coding to young people in detention centers. This will serve them while they are in detention centers and be a valuable tool for them when they get out. I thank you so much for your help in the past and hope you continue to be a part of TFC in the future.

Thanks so much everyone that donated to Tools For Change. I have so much more planned. This summer a lot of the donations went to feed people on 125th and Lexington Ave. We had only planned on going one afternoon. That afternoon turned to weekly trips. We not only fed the people but we made social changes. Because we took to social media and contacting politicians about the K2 problem in East Harlem a lot of changes were made. Mayor Bill de Blasio signed a law recently making K2 illegal in NYC and several stores were shut down including the one my mom went in and investigated. We are very proud that we were able to bring much needed attention to the East Harlem community. We also had three grocery giveaways in the last three months. This was different than the lunch giveaways. People were able to go from table to table and fill bags with groceries. This Thanksgiving my mother and I have teamed with a pastor to have enough food to feed at least 400 people. I'm also excited about my college gear initiative. We are planning on giving young people who feel doubtful about attending college some college gear. What I know is that when you have something tangible it makes it feel more real. We are planning on giving out college tee shirts, a few hoodies and stationery supplies with the college logo some of these young people dream of attending. This builds college proud which leads to the determination to make it happen. We also would like to have the passport party sometime early 2016. I'm also teaming up with a survivor of sex trafficking to rescue victims from their traffickers. This survivor has been rescuing victims for a few years now and I'm excited to be joining her. Although I have not reached the goal I need to get my 501c3, I'm not stopping. I'm determined to get my 501c3. We have so much more planned so stay in touch. Again thanks to all those that have donated or wanted to donate.
