The Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School 6th Grade team claimed the New England VEXIQ Robotics Championship at Quinsigimond Community College on March 8. They won the event, which earned them a spot to attend the VEX World Championship. They also won the Design Award for a well designed robot with an excellent engineering notebook. This was their third event of the year. At the Blackstone Valley Tournament in November they also won the Design Award, and they won the Excellence award at the Boston University Tournament in January.
The VEX Robotics World Championship is a gathering of top robotics teams from around the world, celebrating their accomplishments and competing with and against the best of the best. The 2015 VEX Robotics World Championship will take place April 15-18, 2015, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, and will include top teams from over 400 VEX Robotics tournaments happening in cities around the world.
The students and parents of our team are extremely excited for this tremendous opportunity! However, we are asking for your help to cover the event registration fees and travel expenses. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated!
