Veterans Community Response is a non-profit organization composed of firefighters, veterans and therapists working diligently to support combat veterans in their post war readjustment process. Our programs center on the intention of helping combat veterans develop the skills to navigate their post war challenges to achieve productive and satisfying lives after serving our country. It is our firm belief that with support, compassion and understanding we can create a safe and structured environment that will promote the healing process for all we serve.

My husband has been involved with VCR since 2009. The retreats they offer combat veterans challenges their physical abilities as well as promoting mental healing.
VCR made a huge difference in my husband's life. Before his first retreat in 2009, he was at rock bottom. He went from 3 sport athlete who aspired to spend 20 years in the Army to a man who was severely injured (7 gunshot wounds that nearly cost his life, left arm, and left leg.) He also suffered (still does) from severe PTSD from his deployment in 2007. Every year he found renewed hope, felt more comfortable, and made some best friends of other combat veterans. Every year he gained tools to help navigate his difficulties. Now, as a peer mentor he helps others. This Memorial Day, many combat veterans are suffering, missing their buddies.
This donation will help them reach out to the community of veterans, conduct amazing retreats to change the lives of those veterans and so forth.
