Veteran's home hit by mudslide
I am hoping to raise money to help with his living expenses while they are waiting on the results of the insurance investigation. I honestly do not know if a home can be insured against mudslides. So there may be a bad ending to this story and that is the veteran's insurance may not cover this event. In which case he will be on the hook for all the expenses. I personally will be up there helping him in anyway that I can if this happens. Until he has an answer from the insurance company, his living arrangements are all out of pocket. Plus his mortgage and other household bills must continue to be paid.
I am putting an amoutn of $20,000 to be raised but honestly this will be a drop in the bucket. If we are fortunate enough to raise the $20,000, please do not stop there. Let us keep going past this amount.

Space is limited around the house. I will talk with him and get a game plan for volunteers to go to his place and help. So far it has been volunteers that live local.
How awful for this family! Aside from financial donations, how can we help? Would the family like donations of food or clothing, or a shared dinner with the company of other locals? Do they need rides to/from anywhere? Do they have pets who need food or temporary housing? Is there anything else they need that people might be able to assist with? Please let us know, because I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who don't have the financial wherewithal to donate money, but who would like to help in some way!
I am with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, anything we can do to help another in need! Please let us know for clothing, food, or whatever. I am sure this is very devastating to him and his family, furry and else wise! God be with you!
