Veteran aand family lost home

I had several years of bad luck. I lost over $10,000 in one year that included accounting errors by the Army and my previous landlord making me pay for the heating unit malfunctioning. I worked a part time job at Home Depot, but within several months my hips were found to be dying. Over the next two years I went through seven surgeries to replace both of my hips, shoulder, and infection. But these aren’t my only injuries or issues caused by my army service. I was recently medically discharged (retired sort of) at 19 years 10 months so that I could not get my retirement. But was promised, before I got out, that I would get my retirement. I am now getting my records corrected, but I was told it could be up to a year. During this whole time I was stealing from Peter to pay Paul just to survive. I don’t like asking for help, when I have in the past, I was severely let down. My family and I am currently being evicted from our home. I do not have the money to get a new place. The VA has put me on housebound for now. I hope soon I will be able to be cleared and get back to work.
I understand that this is my fault, and that I should suffer for not fixing this on my own. But my kids should not suffer due to me. I realize that I have failed as a father, husband, and man.
